what comes around goes around
This first year of college was full of new surprises.
I somehow found myself doing campus leadership activities and discovered unexpected friends. I pledged and depledged, and struggled with understanding what it was I wanted out of my college experience. Then went on to a higher position in campus government.
I went from a crazy environment of being a pledge in a asian sorority, to fake friendship, to bitch talking, to building government, to new friends, and to new understandings. At the end I realized that really that sweet old cheesy saying of “what comes around goes around” is so true. All this time I was worrying about what others would think or how they would treat me when I really just needed to make sure I was doing my best at being a well rounded and genuine person. Only then would I receive honesty and respect as well.
I’ve found people I can finally trust and I realized if I just change my own behavior and face everything with good intent that other people will realize as well. As for those who can’t do the same, the complaining and negativity will eventually hurt them and drive the people who are important away from them.
It was an interesting year and definitely packed with learning experiences. It’s been tough but it’s been a necessary process to help me grow up.
